Bull Thistle

A common, large, late summer, thistle in open waste palces and ditches. The flowers are a well rounded tuff from a large spiny burr. Probably the "proto-thistle" that most people can indentifyas "thistle". Very spiny, cut, leaves on a tough, spiny, tall, thick stems.
