Babes-in-the-Woods
A common late-spring flower found in most woods. Bountiful, magenta, reliable flowers with a little white "pom-pom" at the odd, sock-like tip; two petal "wings" on the side. Flowers last for a good while. Cute, common, and interesting. Also called: Flowering Wintergreen (it looks like wintergreen, but has a more trailing form), Gaywings, and mom calls them Babes-in-the-Wood.
