English Plantain

A very common plant of field and lawns. Compact white-green-brown flower/seed heads on tall stalk. Thin, lance-shaped leaves with a couple ribs. This and Common Plantain (broad-leaves with narrow flower stalks) are number one lawn-pests. Usually the reason you have to mow mid-summer - even though the grass isn't growing.
