Moth Mullein

A common type of mullein that grows along roadsides and waste places - particularily late-June/early-July. Yellow-White flower with purple athers and orange tips; blooms ascend the terminal cluster in blooming order. Tallish (~3'), and tend look like a series of spires sticking-out along roads and fields.

I can only guess that the "moth" nature refers to the flower centers, which are furry with stamens that look like moth antennae.
