Early Goldenrod

An mid-sized Goldenrod found is rocky sports and dry roadsides. Blooms as early as late July, with an arching, elm-like plume. Perhaps shorter than other "field" goldenrods, about 3'. The stem is smooth and green. The leaves are smooth and goodly oblong with a slight toothing on large lower leaves.
