Blue-Stemmed Goldenrod

A common Goldenrod occurring in woods/wood edge, shady sides of roads. Not very tall with regularly spaced clusters of flowers at the leaf axils. A bluish cast to stem, which is more noticeable earlier in the year. Long, linear-ish, leaves - the long evenly-spaced leaves, wand-like growth, and wooded growing terrain makes this easy to identify throughout the summer. A long-seasoned Goldenrod from late August to frost.

When it comes to goldenrods found in woods, there's really only two goldenrods i find commonly around this area: either Zig-Zag Goldenrod or Blue-Stemmed Goldenrod
