Blue Flag

A beautiful native iris found on stream/pond sides, often near, or even standing in, high-spring waters. The late-spring blooms last fleetingly, with 2-4 blooms on a stalk. Smaller and shorter than Yellow Flag, prefering stream-sides more than swampy areas. Grows in small rhizome-rings - as common with Iris. Often found around beaver dams.
